It's interesting how aging affects us differently. Some seem to wear it well while others are notably beleagured
by it's effects. Wrinkles, gray hair, age spots, and the like are just a natural occurrence that reminds us of the frailty
of life itself. The signs of aging also tell us something else about life and people. They tell us that time has
passed, experiences have happened, and for better or for worse there is a story behind each wrinkle or gray hair. Our
lives are writing our history upon our bodies. Well there is another history that is being written by our lives and
it is the one that is recorded in the timeless and eternal book of life itself. The bible teaches us that we will be
one day judged for how we have lived our lives.
Hebrews 9:27 (NASB)
And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once
and after this comes judgment,
There is the great white throne of judgment at which those who have rejected the Christ, (Jesus), will be judged accordingly.
Rev. 20:11-12 (KJV)
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat
on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. [12] And I saw the dead,
small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and
the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
But there is also the judgment for those who have died in Christ, (born again believers). Yes the bible teaches that
there will be a time of judging for us as well.
1 Cor. 3:11-15 (KJV)
For other foundation can no man lay than that is
laid, which is Jesus Christ. [12] Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
[13] Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the
fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. [14] If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive
a reward. [15] If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

What will that day hold for you my friend? As you take the time to read this think about the day of judgment, will
your works be of wood, hay, or stubble, or will they be of gold, silver, and precious stones? No doubt each of us will
have a mixture of the above. Life has a tendency to pass us by rather quickly. Seems like only yesterday that my hair was
all brown and my get-along was getting along. Now the gray is obvious and my get-along got up and went. Remember:
Only one life to live
soon will be past
Only what's done for the Lord
will last.
Are you writing a history in heaven that is pleasing to God and ultimately to you?
